Sierra Front is reporting that crews are responding to=the Leon Fire in Sun Valley on Leon Drive and Chimney Drive. The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD) is reporting that the fire is 50 acres large and spreading north towards Spanish Springs.

This fire is threatening multiple structures, including homes.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is advising residents north of Sun Valley, west of Pyramid Highway and south of Eagle Canyon of the fire danger. Evacuation center set at Hug High School.

Residents with animals can contact Washoe County Animal Control services for help getting their animals to safety, they have a crew on scene you can contact at (775) 353-8900 or (775) 322-3647.

TMFPD is on scene and are asking the public to avoid the area.
