A representative of Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney has said that the defender will consider a move to Arsenal if Celtic accept a bid for the player.

The Gunners have so far made one offer of £15m for the Scottish international, which was rejected, but Allan Preston has made the fullback’s position clear on his future:

“It is all down to Celtic – if they get a price that they believe is the correct value for Kieran Tierney he could possibly be on his way. No one has hit that price yet.”

If Arsenal are to secure Tierney during this transfer window, it seems apparent that the club will have to match Celtic’s £25m asking price.

So far, the Gunners have fallen well short of that amount, and they could face competition for the 22-year-old with Napoli having taken an interest in the player, as Preston confirms:

“It will be up to the clubs that are involved – Arsenal, Napoli or whoever – to then put the money on the table and make Celtic think about this. If there is a time for Kieran to go it will be up to Celtic, Peter Lawwell and the board.”

Tierney is currently recovering from a double hernia operation and won’t feature in Celtic’s Champions League qualifier against FK Sarajevo next week.

The Hoops brought in a new left-back Boli Mbombo from Rapid Vienna last week, who could well be the Scottish star’s replacement.
