Multiple agencies are searching for a man they say was involved with an armed robbery at a Forest Acres bank Tuesday morning, according to the Forest Acres Police Department and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
The armed robbery happened at the South Carolina Federal Credit Union on Forest Drive around 9 a.m., according to authorities.
Above is a surveillance picture from the bank of the alleged robber. Authorities say the man isn’t wearing the hoodie in the above picture anymore because they recovered it a few blocks away.
A woman was also involved with the incident. Authorities say she tried to get away in a car when she didn’t comply and was shot in the arm by an officer, which made her crash into another car. That woman was found with a backpack of money and is currently in the hospital.
Bloodhounds and helicopters are helping search for the man.
Four schools in the Forest Acres area are also on lockdown due to the incident, according to Richland School District One.
Bradley Elementary, Brockman Elementary, Crayton Middle and Satchel Ford Elementary were are all on lockdown Tuesday, according to the district. Buses are now being released to take students home from these five schools and the schools can resume all other normal dismissal procedures.
No one was injured in the incident.
