Manchester United don’t have the best record against Russian opposition, with just one win in seven matches. The Red Devils did, however, win their last match at CSKA Moscow; a 1-0 victory in the group stage of the Champions League in 2009.

Michael Carrick is United’s only remaining squad member from their 2008 Champions League final win over Chelsea which took place in Moscow.

If rumours are to be believed, Man United are set to confirm that Paul Pogba requires surgery for his hamstring injury. If true, the central midfielder could be sidelined for as long as three months.

It’s also been confirmed that Marouane Fellaini is out of action after he was injured at Southampton last weekend.

Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are both long-term absentees with knee injuries.
