Everything you need to know ahead of the Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday lunchtime.

ARSENAL TEAM NEWS

Alexandre Lacazette is likely to return to the starting XI having been left on the bench against Manchester City, but Olivier Giroud is set to miss out with a thigh injury.

Shkodran Mustafi and Danny Welbeck could return, having both been out since October, while Alex Iwobi will be checked after having to fly back from Russia via Nigeria having starred for the Super Eagles in their win over Argentina.

Santi Cazorla remains a long-term absentee while it remains unlikely Jack Wilshere will earn himself a first league start of the season in such a big match.

SPURS INJURIES

Tottenham have a series of injury doubts ahead of the crucial clash, with a host of big-name players having sat out the international break.

Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Harry Winks all withdrew from the England squad with injuries while Hugo Lloris and Toby Alderweireld were also missing for France and Belgium respectively.

Michel Vorm also pulled out of the Netherlands squad, and with long-term absentees Victor Wanyama and Erik Lamela still on the sidelines, Mauricio Pochettino’s will be hopeful some of his star men pull through.

He did receive a boost as Jan Vertonghen recovered from an ankle injury to play for Belgium against Japan while Mousa Dembele has now returned to full fitness after a series of minor knocks.

SPURS POTENTIAL STARTING LINE-UP

With so many injury doubts it is difficult to predict exactly how Spurs will line up at the Emirates Stadium, but goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga could again be called upon if Lloris and Vorm do not pull through.

Dembele’s return to fitness could see him start for the first time since September while Eric Dier could deputise in the back three if Alderweireld is not fit.

Danny Rose could also start ahead of Ben Davies having played in both England matches over the break.

Arsenal vs Tottenham head to head

  • Arsenal haven’t won any of their last six Premier League meetings with Spurs (D4 L2) – their longest ever winless run against their rivals in league competition.
  • Tottenham have won only two of their last 32 away league visits to face Arsenal (W2 D13 L17), winning 3-1 at Highbury in May 1993 and 3-2 at the Emirates in November 2010.
  • In the last seven Premier League meetings between these sides at the Emirates, the side scoring first has only gone on to win once – with Arsenal securing a 1-0 win in September 2013 thanks to Olivier Giroud’s goal.
  • Indeed, Tottenham have dropped 37 points from leading positions in Premier League games against Arsenal, more than any other side has against another in the competition’s history.
  • Harry Kane has scored in all five of his Premier League north London derbies, netting six goals in total. Only Emmanuel Adebayor (8) and Robert Pires (7) have scored more goals in this fixture in the Premier League.
